DIY recycled plastic bag pouch
looking for some inspiration for future DIY projects - especially xmas present DIYs - i found a pretty awesome tutorial online at instructables.com and i thought i'd really have to share it, it's cheap and actually so unbelievably benefitial for our environment - a cute little pouch, made from old plastic or potato chips bags.
here's what you need: 1 a emty candy, shopping, potato chip or just any plastic bag you like (you might need two if you want to use the more beautiful sides..) 2 two transparent pieces of plastic in the size of your plastic bags (you can simply cut one of those foils where you can put sheets of paper in to protect them) 3 two pieces of fabric, slightly bigger than the plastic bags 4 a zipper 5 a needle and yarn or a sewing machine 6 some scissors, pencil, ruler
1 place the zipper (right side up) on the fabric (right side up)
4 put the second piece of fabric under the part you just finished (foil, plastic bag and fabric of the first side should be on one side of the zipper, the new fabric should be right side up, just as the zipper)
7 put the fabric and plastic (bag+foil) sewn to the left side of the zipper to the left and the fabric and plastic (bag+foil) sewn to the right side of the zipper to the right and open the zipper
9 turn your bag to the right side (be patient! you don't want to ruin your work!) and sew the hole in the fabric right where the pink dots are. push the fabric to the inside of your pouch and YOU'RE DONE!
might seem a little bit complicated, but i promise you, while making the pouch every step is going to be very clear and i actually made two of them already and they're in fact easier than you might think from the first view.. try it and - as a tiny side effect - you'll be saving our wonderful planet.

2 place the foil and then the first half/piece of the plastic bag (wrong side up) on the fabric and zipper and sew right where the pink line is (fabric, zipper, foil and plastic bag should be sewn together)
3 flap the foil and plastic bag to the top and sew where the pink line is, nearby the actual zipper.

5 revise step 2: place the foil and plastic bag (wrong side up) and sew everything together right where the pink line is
6 revise step 3: flap foil and plastic bag and sew where the pink line is drawn

8 flap the plastic parts to the one and the fabric parts to the other side, make sure that the to sides of the open zipper are in line and sew where the pink line is. leave a little bit of space to turn your bag and cut the unnecessary fabric and plastic around your seam after sewing

nomnom JELLO!
since it's been halloween last night i decided to modify my camera a little bit and turned my white flash into a blue one. all i did was taping some blue foil before it and i think the pictures look very nice, i love the colours and i think i'm gonna try some more flash colours.. i've got some pink and yellow foil at home, too and maybe i can also combine two colours in one.. or even three..
HOW TO MAKE JELLOSHOTS - RECIPE
.
you need: a pack of do-it-yourself jello, for example Dr. Oetker Götterspeise of any flavour, vodka, water, juice (optional)
1 read the instructions on the jello pack, you would eventually have to modify the recipe a little bit.. since i'm using Dr. Oetker and yours could be different..
2 heat up 200ml of water and 200ml of a suitable juice in a pot. (the pack yould suggest 500ml, but we will add the vodka later, since the alcohol would go away if we heated it up) you could for example use raspberry flavoured jello and raspberry juice. make sure it doesn't boil. now mix the powder and 5 big spoons of sugar with the water and the juice until it is completely dissolved
3 wait until the liquid has cooled down a little bit, takes about 15-20min, and then add 100ml of vodka
4 fill it into small shot glasses and wait until they've cooled down a little bit more. then put them into the refridgerator or outside (in winter only)
if you need it faster, put the glasses into the freezer for about 20-30min - that's what we did..
5 take the shots out and they're ready to serve. (you might need some spoons to get the jello out of the glasses..) enjoy!

flea market.
i had a quite awesome day yesterday.. well, it seemed to be a stupid one first, but then i went to munich, first to read some books in the library for my artwork but then i went a little shopping and meet my girls, we went for some sushi and finally arrived at the flea market. it was pretty special - just for girls and started at 7pm - but pretty crowded, too. you couldn't even move inside.. so we decided to search a bar to have some drinks.. and i had one of the most delicious strawberry daiquiries there ever.. nom ♥
i actually found a nice pair of levis high waisted jeans, W28 is perfect for my waist, it's not too tight but as you can see on the picture, they didn't really look very good, the legs are really too big.. so, like i had planned anyway, i cut them into some really cute shorts..
so this is what they look like after cutting.. i really love the colour.. but they have some black paint on the back, so i might either bleach them or dye them completely black.. or i'll just leave them.. i'm also not sure yet if i'd distress them or just leave them as they are.. but i will definitely sew the rolled up part so i don't have to do it again everytime.
i also bought a pair of earrings at the flea market and some halloween earrings and a lace dress in the city.. i think i'll wear both of them for halloween..
.
EDIT: guess what, i just won another FOUR levis high waisted jeans on ebay for just 13€. Ha, i've never won anything before but this is awesome, isn't it? cutting, ripping, dying, studding, flag shorts.. can i have summer again, please?
