wtf.

i'm back from hamburg and it was a wonderful trip, although it did rain all the time.. of course we made a little boat trip around the harbour and watched some sights, but next to the awesome musical 'the lion's king', the shopping-day was the best, of course! the picture above i took in the MONKI-store, a absolutely wonderful shop with tons of gorgeous clothes and an astounding design - i couldn't explain how those strange mirrors work, but it's so much fun to walk by them and see yourself a thousand times. what i wear: shoes: converse / jeans: zara / shirt: babycakes / jacket: american apparel

hamburg.

and again i'm on my way, this time i'm off to hamburg - a wonderful city. and i'm so looking forward visiting the ONLY urban outfitters store here in germany and a lot of other stores. as soon as i'm back i'll have a lot of stuff for you: a DIY for some high waisted shorts, lots and lots of lomography and of course my purchases from hamburg!

bloodycat.

since i'm 18 now and officially allowed to have my own ebay account i stupidly spend a lot of time there, not very good for my wallet, but sometimes you find really surprising things while browsing ebay - bloodycat.co.kr - a korean online store for strange and insane stuff, most of it is really freaky, but all the american-flag items, like denim jackets, trousers or shorts are absolutely awesome - too bad that the website is full of those cute little korean signs so you don't understand anything.. what a luck that some of the stuff is also available on ebay - or i could make such a flagged denim vest myself since i'm going to visit a flea market in munich tomorrow, maybe i'll find a vintage denim jacket there - anyway you should check out the shop!

i'm back.

here i am. back from an unbelievably wonderful trip with some of the funniest and cutest gilrs you're ever gonna meet. i'm as relaxed as i've never been, because of doning nothing for 10 days besides swimming and lying in the sun. i shoot nearly 4 rolls with my holga and i'm extremely inspired by the wonderful italian nature and i can't wait to finally do something, my fingers can't keep quiet anymore - so there's a lot waiting for you!excuse me for posting this, but i had to suffer a kind of fringe-detoxication while not being at home.. and this is one of the most hilarious moments in whole season three!

inspiration.

i'm bored to death, so i decided to tell you a little bit about my sources of inspiration, inspiring things, people.. in general i have to say that most of my inspration either comes from the web, especially weheartit.com, or from the streets. so the following list is about the most inspiring -

TIME: SECONDS BEFORE YOU'RE FALLING ASLEEP / WHILE DREAMING
for me the night is the most inspiring time ever, just think about sitting outside, watching the stars and the dark sky, thinking about space, infinity or anything because in the silence you're thoughts can fly free and in the darkness there's nothing  to distract them. i get the best ideas just seconds before i'm falling asleep, unfortunately i forget them until the next day, but then in the night they come back again, sometimes follow me into my dreams - a way to escape from reality - i love my dreams, the weirder the better, the laws of physics are completely out of control and everything is possible, my brain creates a world without limits, where my imagination is free to create everything and where inspiration is the secret power to build everything.

LOCATION: FESTIVAL
whenever you search for hundreds of people with individual and gorgeous styles you should visit a festival. the average of mainstream-dressed people is very low and you can't walk even 10 meters without meeting another person, dressed in his own and awesome way, i often can't even look fast enough, i'd always ask everyone 'where did you get that? - it's beautiful!' but i can't annoy my friends too much though.. really, festivals are so inspiring, and it's not only the fashion, it's the atmosphere, people sitting around, awesome bands, loads of alcohol and you're friends around you, that's what makes a festival to a wonderful source of inspiration - and don't forget to take your sketchbook and a camera with you!

PERSON / REAL LIFE: DIFFICULT
i think there are many people i know, that in some way inspire me,but some are special. first one is my dad, who made a trip around the world when he was young, he visited asia, thailand, vietnam and i think china, africa, egypt, he saw so many things and he often tells stories and really, with every story i want to do it exactly like he did, take a year off to see the world, all the expiriences, all those people and cultures - travelling is maybe the most inspiring thing - the world is a book and those who do not travel only read one page.
next is my art teacher at school for seeing things in me i didn't even know myself and for her unbelievable tips about drawing, being creative, developing ideas - she inspired me to try to forget about my perfectionism and that's maybe the best thing that could ever happen to me! and last there's my best friend. she's the only one who really understands me and one look into her eyes or talking to her about random things inspires as much as hanging around here or at weheartit for a whole day.

PERSON / CELEBRITIES: THE OLSEN TWINS
when i was little i watched nearly every movie with the olsens, i was jealous, i loved their life, taking it easy, and i always wanted to have a twin, too. you always have somebody around you, someone you can trust and someone who is in some way exactly like you. now, almost ten years later i'm just admiring their incredible style, no one can wear those round glasses, except THEM - and they look so damn good with them. they're skinny, got long hair and a ton of beautiful clothes, and they're beautiful - and it's still two of them. next to the olsens there's also audrey kitching for her hair and taylor momsen for her style who are very inspiring.

QUOTE: REAL IS JUST A MATTER OF PERCEPTION
it's the most inspiring quote because it's true. you can never tell what's real and what's not, who says that even this here is real? i love it, because everytime i hear or read it or i think of it i think about reality, i start thinking about if everything around me is real or if it's just a figure of my imagination, if dreams are part of reality, what a deja vĂș really means, if there could be a parallel universe, an alternate reality.. strange things, so it isn't surprising that this quote is from fringe isn't it? well, actually fringe is the most inspiring tv show i've ever seen - endless possibilities.

THING: CRYSTALS
i can't really explain, maybe it's the sparkling, the geometric shapes, triangles, colours.. all i know is that i'm currently very fascinated of crystals, gems, minerals - maybe it's the imperfection and maybe it's because crystals are one of the rare things people can't make themselves artificially. what is very inspiring for me too, are jellyfish, skeletons, butterflies, feathers and human hearts.

WEBSITE: WEHEARTIT.COM / LOOKBOOK.NU
my greatest source of photo inspiration comes from weheartit.com, they got nearly every photo on the worldwideweb there, you can just save it on your heart with one click and i love spending an hour or two there, just clicking through the photos, collecting inspiration in fashion, lifestyle and art. for more fashion inspiration i need lookbook.nu, where real people from all around the world share their newest looks and every day i login there i'll get a new idea, what i could wear or how i could change my style, to improve it or what i could DIY next.

i don't know why i chose this one, i love her style, her hair, her way of writing just what comes into her mind and of course her streched ear ♥ i'm always a little bit jealous, she's always on the way and i'm sitting there, infront of my computer, thinking 'damn, what are you doing here, where are your friends, call them, NOW!' but most time i just stay sitting there.. another blog i love is webelonginwonderland.tumblr.com, although i don't have a tumblr i love all those super inspiring photos and gifs, the dark and - i don't know how to call it - grungy style, beautiful. and of course kaylahadlington.blogspot.com for her wonderful thrifting and DIY.

random.

ha. today i got my driving license - well, actually i've been driving for about 10 months now, with a special programme here in germany where it is allowed to drive with your parents even if you're just 17 - but now i can drive alone! and that is so much fun, really. well, this seems to be a out-of-my-life post so i'm gonna tell you that i'll be away for 10 days from saturday, on a trip with my four cuties - we're going to italy, gardasee and i think it is not the perfect weather there, 22°C or something but still better than here in germany - actually everything is better than germany. so i'm hoping to shoot really 5 rolls or something with my holga, i'm shooting not enough at all here.. i should take her with me more often.. or use her more often if i take her with me.. well, i hope i'll have a lot of things to tell you then, a lot of inspiration, photos, stories, anything so that i can recover my little attention - or my nonexistent attention - for this blog. i'll miss you. ♥ ♥

mr skeleton.

skeletons - on tights, shirts, sweaters, doesn't matter - are beautiful and very inspiring. everyone knows the wildofx skeleton jumper, i'd really give everything to have one of them. but you also often see skeleton inspired cut-outs on tees or sweaters, skulls or ribs, and it is very easy to do it yourself, there are plenty of tutorails on youtube, also the skeleton tights, i got inspired by KAYLA , she just painted the bones on plain tights with some permanent marker, that's like the easiest thing ever, and it's also super cheap. well, i know what my next DIY-project is - skeletons everywhere!

DIY - diamond cotton bag

itnT1N on Make A Gif, Animated Gifsso that's the thing i worked on today and yesterday in the evening: a diy-diamond cotton bag. since i had a lot of white cloth at home i wanted to customize my plain black bag and decided to sew a diamond on it.. it wasn't that easy and again i sewed everything by hand - because of missing sewing machine skills, i really should fix that sometimes.. well, if anyone wants a tutorial, just post a comment here and i'll make you one!

freedom.

yesterday was like the best day of the whole year. it was my 18th birthday and i started the day with playing lotto and after that i spent it with creating an ebay-account, driving with my dads car, buying a horror movie for over eighteens, buying cigarettes and vodka and at least spending the night in different clubs in munich with my best friend <3 really, getting 18 here in europe is the best thing ever, you're allowed to do everything, whatever you want, without asking your parents or anyone else, you suddenly recognize how limited your life has been before and how free you're now. so, the first photo is a collage from different ones i took over the evening, i had to cut them because i look so damn stupid on most of them. well, i was pretty drunk - we meet some people from gelsenkirchen, swiss ones and also a guy from new zealand, wich is on the other side of the world! we had a lot of fun with dancing and it was really a wonderful and long night. the second one i took today in the morning while we were sitting in the train, eating breakfast.. actually it was 1pm - i couldn't eat very much, so i decided to take just a plain bagel from coffee fellows, but i love their bagels, especially the ones with something on them, like cheese and salad or something.. next time then..

inspiration.

one day to freedom.

5 mm

YAY! i finally streched my ear up to 5mm - half of the way is done - and it still looks much too tiny. the tunnel i'm wearing is from that market in rome i told you once about, it's a double flared one but you can screw it in the middle - without this i wouldn't have gotten it into my ear.. that's one of the best inventions ever! i love the double flared tunnels, they haven't got such a thick border in the front and back so your hole looks bigger - but you don't get them into your ear that easily.. so screw-double-flared is perfect!
and: two days to freedom.

mishka NYC

after two days at my friend's with a lot of movies, food and awesome moments i came home again today, and while waiting for my bus i went into a little store and in a magazine i read about a brand named MISHKA - now i checked out the online store and they've got absolutely wonderful things there - unfortunately only for men.. i love their eyeball theme, it's a bit disgusting maybe, but i would instantly fall in love with every guy wearing mishka. and: three days to freedom.

DIY - ripped denim zebra shorts.

as i was tidying up my room and my closet today i found this old skirt, i really don't wear it anymore, but i liked the cloth, so i decided to use it for my ripped denim shorts i made a while ago. actually recycling old clothes is like the best thing you could ever do: you save money and at the same time you save the planet. whenever you reuse clothes i recommend to rip the seams to have the most possible amount of cloth, like you can see in the second picture. but if you're as lazy as i am, you could just cut near the seam - picture 3 - and you'll also get a lot of cloth. right underneath you'll find a tutorial how to use recycled cloth to pimp some shorts.
the pockets:

1 cut a piece of cloth, always leave about an inch more than the actual area is
2 turn the fringed ends of the cloth to the inside and take some pins to hold the whole thing in place. it takes a little time to get this right but it is important to work very exact to avoid spots where you can see the denim
3 sew it. if you're skilled you can also use a sewing machine for it, but i'm not and you have to pay attention not to also sew the back of your shorts to the pockets!
the shorts:

important: turn over your shorts before starting!
1 again: cut a pice of cloth, about an inch larger than the actual area
2 use some pins to hold the cloth in place, you don't need to turn the fringe because you're working on the back of your shorts. you should also put the cloth under the pockets to hide the white cloth!
3 start sewing. VERY IMPORTANT: the front of the shorts should look good so you need to turn the shorts back and sew right where the seams are so that you don't see any new seams! it is a little bit complicated and you sould always turn back to control if the cloth is still in the right place! and again, if you're very skilled you can also use the sewing machine.
4 this is how the left side looks like after finishing.
5 the shorts after having revised step 1-3 on the right side.
6 close-up of a ripped part.
this is what my shorts look like after i turned them back again. i also tried them on and they still fit! perfect. so i have a lot of zebra-cloth left and i think i'll customize my black cotton bag with it, anyways, doesn't matter what i'll do with it i'll show it to you (:
